The project, dubbed “Lucky Lady Lucy,” will take shape during an eight-week residency at the plaza to create a 20-foot figure of a Las Vegas showgirl — a temporary artwork to be made from thousands of playing cards and casino chips. The community-driven project is sponsored by the city of Las Vegas and the Society for Experimental Arts and Learning. Boulder Plaza is located at the intersection of Main Street and Boulder Avenue, north of Charleston Boulevard and the Arts Factory.           First Friday also will feature an exciting 14-artist exhibit located at Casino Center and Charleston Boulevard. The exhibit will host Las Vegas artists working in a wide range of media and styles, including ceramics, painting, graphic novels, photography, glass and other fine art.
