| Weekly Workshops at both the Alley Theatre and Stages Theatre
YPS at Alley Theatre9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (early drop-off option at 8 a.m.)$275 per week One week programs culminating in a Sharing Session on Friday at 1 p.m.
Session I – June 11 – June 15 - 2nd -4th gradersSession II – July 9- July 13 – 2nd – 4th graders
Students enrolled in Session I or II will explore theatre through creative dramatics. Students will turn classic stories, poems and literature into their own youthful stage adaptation. Students will be guided through the process by Alley-trained teaching artists who will nurture student creativity while teaching acting, collaborative problem-solving, staging and improvisation.
Session III– July 30 – August 3 - 2nd – 12th graders 9am-1pm (early drop-off at 8 a.m.)
Students enrolled in Session III workshops will deconstruct theatre using the tools of the actor (voice, body and imagination).
Theatre Games (2nd – 6th graders) – Play to learn and Learn to Play. Students with use Theatre Games designed by Viola Spolin to strengthen the ensemble, problem solve and think on your feet.
Meet my Friend Bill (4th-9th graders) – Shakespeare the fun way! Explore William Shakespeare’s plays in all new ways – as graphic novels, puppets and mime shows.
Theatre Yoga (7th-12th graders) – Learn to Focus! Using Yoga as the basis, this class will teach students how to relax and focus.
Tech Theatre Lite (6th – 12th graders) – This is for students who want to get their hands dirty. Learn how to make props and costumes the easy way.
YPS at Stages 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (early drop-off option at 8 a.m.)$250 per week One week programs culminating in a Sharing Session on Friday at 12:30 p.m.

Dreams are the Theatre of the Night. This summer’s three week program will use the teachings of Carl Jung to explore theatre through its basic elements. Using Jung’s archetypes to explore character and his dream analysis to explore plot, students will delve into their own psyche to create their showcases. Students will travel to sacred spaces in Houston to help understand the power of imagination. We will be partnering with Dr. Jerry Ruhl, Executive Director of the Jung Center of Houston. All field trip costs are included in tuition.

| Each year Fashion Boot Camp offers new fashion challenges and new design techniques that every designer should have in their bag of tricks! Being green is taking a fashionable front this year with every possible consideration being taken.
Fashion Boot Camp is 5-day clinic featuring “Project Runway style” challenges intended to prepare aspiring designers for college and their career. The camp is targeted at middle school, high school, college students and even, career minded individuals who want to enter the fashion industry.
Designers participate in all the fun of being part of the fashion world. Computer Aided Design, Fashion Illustration, and Portfolio development are a few of the useful topics to be covered in the five day intensive. The basics will include Couture 101 hand sewing techniques, Vintage Re-Make, Felting, Millinery, Fashion Trending, Dress Form Use, Proper Body Measurements, Goal Setting, Skin Care, Make Up Application, Fashion Show Production and Runway Intro. Experts from the Fashion industry will enrich the camp by bringing their real life experience to the table. Life skills such as yoga, sustainability, and goal setting will be woven throughout the five days. The week will culminate with a fashion show produced by the designers. They will model an outfit refashioned from a vintage garment the designer chooses on the "FBC buying trip". Designers will have their hair and make-up done professionally as part of the Fashion Boot Camp production.
The participants will receive the FBC Designer Kit which includes a tote, sewing kit, shears, portfolio, full color photos of your camp work, FBC sketch journal & pencils, t-shirt, and spending allowance for the buying trip and all supplies.
Fashion Boot Camp takes place from 10am-5pm Monday through Friday. The Fashion Show/Reception will be 5pm till 6pm on Friday of the session. The designers will be able to invite their families and friends to attend this special event. Dates are available in June July and August, Summer 2012. Check here for dates: www.fashionbootcamp.info.
Fashion Boot Camp will be held at the Fashion Boot Camp Studio on Memorial Crossing in Northwest Houston. Space is limited to 135 students city-wide. Designers can enroll by April 30th, 2012 and receive $100 off tuition as incentive for early enrollment. |

Summer Reading Challenge now through Wednesday, August 22. Children 10 years and under are challenged to read all summer long. Also available is the Certificate of Completion. Adults can fill it out and take it into Pottery Barn Kids at The Woodlands Mall for a free book* when a child, 10 or under, completes a Summer Reading Challenge List.

On Saturday, July 14, children can decorate their very own canvas book bag. Everything is supplied, except the imagination. Cost is $10 per child. Space is limited and reservations are required. Career speakers introduce participants to a wide variety of future career possibilities. Certified educators facilitate leadership groups, simulations, and leadership activities. Eligible students maintain an 85 or higher average and receive an educator recommendation based on demonstrated leadership ability. These residential, Sunday-Friday programs are offered during spring break and throughout the summer. |
